Biochar

Our Biochar is made form the natural charcoal we produce, it is the smaller particles of charcoal that are removed during our bagging process.  This product is great for adding to your soil and compost to create better plants, stronger root formation and healthier soil.  We recommend using a 10% mix of biochar into the soil.  Add some love to your soil with Caradoc Biochar.

Why choose Caradoc Charcoal?

If you normally purchase your charcoal in the supermarket, you won’t have experienced a charcoal like ours.

Our product is 100% natural made with sustainably sourced British wood, and we believe we are the only charcoal producers using the retort method in Shropshire.

We produce charcoal from a mix of hardwoods to create a blend that is fast lighting and hot burning. It will get up to temperature within minutes which means you can get on with the barbequing, and most importantly the eating!

This product is steeped in the provenance of traditional production and it can provide a premium BBQ experience. The right charcoal can make cooking outdoors a gourmet event. It is pure of any additives, 100% British and works far more efficiently than the usual shop bought variety.

Charcoal available in supermarkets is normally imported from overseas and won’t necessarily have the same commitment to natural, sustainable production as we do here in the UK. We can guarantee a 100% natural product, with a minimal carbon footprint.

The great thing about charcoal is that it is non-perishable and won’t deteriorate as it has effectively been cooked already. This means it will be as good tomorrow as it will be in years to come, so you don’t have to worry about ordering too much!

Take your outdoor cooking to the next level with Caradoc Charcoal.

As a live fire BBQ chef one of the most important things for me is the quality and provenance of the fuel that I use to cook with. British lumpwood charcoal is all I choose to use, so I was delighted to discover Caradoc Charcoal locally. I haven't found better value or quality in any other brand, it's local and sustainably sourced. Not only this, but the blend of hardwood used creates a wonderful flavour in its smoke and burns hot, and stays hot for a long time. It's the one for me.
